friendly ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our app or join our waitlist at friendly.cafe.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Your information is used only to operate friendly — nothing else.

Waitlist email address. When you join the waitlist we collect your email address.
Account information. When you create an account we may collect your display name, city, and profile photo.
Usage data. We collect standard server logs and anonymised analytics (page views, session duration) to improve the service.
Location (optional). If you choose to share your city we store it to surface relevant activities.

2. How We Use Your Information

To send waitlist updates and launch announcements (waitlist email).
To personalise your experience and match you with activities near you.
To operate and improve the friendly service.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We share data only with the service providers we need to operate friendly:

Firebase / Google Cloud — our backend infrastructure provider. Data is stored on servers in the United States or Japan.
Service providers we use to operate the platform (email delivery, analytics), under strict data-processing agreements.
Law enforcement where required by law.

4. Data Retention

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights please email us at privacy@friendly.cafe.

6. Cookies

We use localStorage only to remember your theme preference and language selection. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Children

friendly is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify waitlist subscribers of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
